It's taken absolutely forever, but this wraps up my cosplay photos from 2013. GRAVITY FALLS. So many photos, so many amazingly awesome times. And videos too. I have the best friends a cosplayer could ask for, really. Because I have so much super awesome GF content, I moved my Wendy stuff from "Not-Costumes" into it's own gallery page, which you will find here. It's full of photos from the past year, as well as video projects based around the show. And now I can finally move on to even newer and shinier things - cross your fingers for more frequent blog posts in the future!

This set has taken me a long time to post, mainly because the set of photos I got back from Everage was huge. Like, 350 photos huge. So it's taken me a long time to sort through them and narrow it down to a set of favourites for my gallery. Annnnnnyways... This is Kim Pine's swimsuit from Volume 4 of Scott Pilgrim. I made it because I love the design of the suit, plain and simple ^_^ I haven't really worn it to anything except for photoshoots with Everage at the Toronto Harbourfront and Toronto Centre Island. Click here to see the inordinately huge gallery for a simple bathing suit XD
For Colossal Con this year, I figured I should have a pool-appropriate outfit to wear especially since most of my friends were bringing some sort of cosplay-swimwear. Triana's "pool" outfit seemed like a good choice since I already had the wig (and didn't mind it getting wet/potentially ruined) and very little custom work would be needed for the rest of the outfit. I didn't have time to make a custom bathing suit to go with it, but did find one which is cute and i thought was relatively appropriate for the character. The bikini pics aren't exactly within the usual scope of my cosplay stuff, but I liked what Kevin came out with enough that I figured I could post a couple XD
Photos from ConBravo! with Elemental and from Colossal Con with Solar Tempest have been added to my VB cosplay page. And one more addition: this fall I finally got around to finishing the rest of the outfit that I had originally planned to go with my HELPeR hoodie. I only have the one crummy photo, but at least it shows the concept I was going for. Added a "Shallow Gravy" tee, make a matching skirt, dk grey matching tights, and cool wedge sneakers with SKULLS on them lol. I thought the whole thing was pretty fun ^_^ Gabriel from Constantine is the oldest costume I have which still occasionally gets wear. I even managed to wear it twice this past summer - once for a photo shoot at Guildwood Park with Elemental and Yavarice, and again shortly after at ConBravo! I love how the shots from the park came out and my only (small) regret is that I didn't have my new hospital bracelets made in time to wear. They looked great when I did finish them though, and you can see them in the ConBravo! photos. Check out the Constantine gallery for lots of pretties.
(Below is a behind-the-scenes pic that Yavarice took, and the final photo from Elemental XD) It probably shouldn't come as a surprise that KW Iron Man and I are "Pepperony" shippers, and that we decided to do some casual/fanservicesque cosplay on New Years Eve. Since it really was a last-minute thing, my outfit is not anything in particular from the movies, just my own dress and playing up the character. Photos by Christina Lord, Kitchener Ontario.
OK: I LOVE wearing my sloth kigurumi, even though I messed up the pattern and it doesn't fit nearly as well as I would like. I don't care. It's awesome. And slothy. Since I've worn it to a few conventions since I made it, I have collected photos from Everage and Elemental which are cute and fun, just like sloths. And just like the sloth I am, I've been way too slow with updating the gallery for this little not-costume.
So holiday/New Years eve plans got in the way a lot more than I was expecting and so my "12 days of Christmas" is on hold for a little bit. I thought I could work around my travel plans but it's just not happening, so expect a big update on Jan 1 or 2 instead.
Happy New Year everyone! I had a lot of fun dressing as Fluttershy at Atomic Lollipop this year (including finally putting her cutie mark on a tank top so I wouldn't die in the August heat) and here come the photos! I did little studio-style shoots with Rebel Shotz Photography and DROO through Cosplay for a Cure, and I also have some cute photos from my own camera (thanks to Yavarice) and Paul Hillier. All the photos and links have been added to my Fluttershy gallery! Also, here's the video that I took while I was there: Midna! Always, always super popular, and these are the very last photos of the costume to go up, from the very last time I wore the costume. just a few shots from Solar Tempest, but they're good, and have been added to my Midna gallery. The Zant cosplayer I was hanging out with is Melanie, aka Shinigami714. Also posted today is the little drawstring "purse" I made to go with the costume when I wore it to PAX East (pictured, with Kurumasha as Tetra).
Today I bring you a brand-new video project from The Video Ninja and I: a documentation of the construction process for Mag, my Katamari cousin costume. I think it's pretty self-explanatory LOL. It's a style of cosplay video I haven't done to this extent before because it takes a lot of pre-planning and additional time to do, but if people are interested in seeing this kind of thing (following a costume from start to finish) I can definitely do more. As per usual, Stills of the costume are in my gallery. |
