Chihiro and the other bathhouse workers in Spirited Away
This costume is the most unique in my portfolio, in that I had no part in making it (aside from buying the fabric). All of the pattern drafting and sewing for my bathhouse uniform was done by Kurumasha - in fact she made THREE (with more possibly on the way for remaining members of the Needle Panic Ground Crew). The idea was to have simple, comfortable, and matching costumes to wear while staffing the Anime North masquerade greenroom, and it worked out really well.
These outfits debuted at Anime North 2016, which was a ridiculously hot weekend. You can tell from the photos that I was over-heated, even in the loose cotton costume and no wig. But the next time I wore it, at YetiCon, the weather was much more cooperative and so I tried to make it a little more costume-y by adding a wig - the closest to appropriate that I owned at the time. Since I think I'll keep wearing this costume in the future, I've adopted that it's Chihiro and I will have a proper ponytail wig for her next time I wear it!
