Betty Cooper - Riverdale
It took me a while to start watching Riverdale, but boy did I get sucked in once I did, probably because it reminds me so much of the first season of Veronica Mars. First I got the itch to pick up a new knitting project and Jughead's hat looked perfect, and then I figured that I could pull off an easy Betty outfit and give the hat to Mr Stark.
Because the characters don't wear "costumes" per se, just wardrobe pieces which change daily, it was a challenge to put together a costume and be recognizable. I had actually been leaning towards her Riverdale Vixens practice uniform until I found a nearly perfect grey sweater to use as a base for her Alice + Olivia crown shirt, so I went with that instead, and appliqued on a crown motif in felt. It ended up being a great "stealth" costume to wear for Halloween at work. Also worn to Toronto Fan Days 2017, Toronto Comicon 2018, and Anime North 2019. I'm in FireMate Photographic's video from Fan Days!

How fortunate that LEGO Marvel Suberheroes 2 came out just in time for us to squeeze in one more (partial) series before the end of the year. So I pulled out a little of everything for my costumes this series.

Temmie (twitch cosplay - series 8)
Undertale: half because I hadn't played or seen Undertale, half because we hadn't gotten to do voices since Series 2, and half because Temmie needs to go to Colleg ~_^. I figured that Temmie would be the easiest character to cosplay (especially without the context of having played any part of the game before) and I think I was right. Thus, for a few weeks I was "Slothcore Tem" and had a ball doing all the silly voices.
October - November 2017 [Undertale in Playtime Highlights #12 and Playtime Highlights #13]
Also worn at Kitchener Comic Con 2018 with the munchkin's Frisk

Galadriel (twitch cosplay - series 7)
We went back to our roots with this one - LEGO video games will always be a go-to for us in terms of fun 2 player co-op. my cosplay took almost no effort for this one... I made the (terrible) crown 3 years ago as my first ever attempt at using Worbla (and boy would I do it differently now) but it just needed a little silver paint to be ready for twitch. Add my fluff-tastic hair, elf ears, and white clothes to perfect my #EverybodyHatesElves look. And let's not forget: more filters than I've used on anything else ever XD

Rose Red and Bloody Mary (twitch cosplay - series 6)
When Dan proposed playing The Wolf Among Us, I jumped at the chance to check it out, since I'm a fan of Fables (the comic book series that it's based on). Initially, my closet cosplay was a character who admittedly isn't in the game, but she was the easiest to pull off at zero cost and low effort, and she's still definitely in-universe! Wig is borrowed from Elemental, shirt used to be for "Red Victory" (scroll wayyyy down), and this is my first ever attempt at the "cell shaded" makeup style since it's not my fave. Once we met Bloody Mary in-game, I decided to switch up my cosplay, because why not? Mary's wig is the same one Mr Stark uses for Robbie (Gravity Falls), and I've worn the blazer with my Holtzmann clothes a few times. Dan got some Bigby makeup too on weeks when I arrived early enough.
August 2017
Bloody Mary also worn at Toronto ComiCon and Studio Comix anniversary party 2018.

Chell (twitch cosplay - series 5)
I wasn't sure if I should include Chell on this page, since she already has a full gallery page.... but hey, why not? Of course Portal and Portal 2 were on the #TeamNinjaSloth play-list, since I've never actually finished either game. And nice to know I already had an appropriate outfit on stand-by... as did Dan since I painted him a Half Life shirt for AN this year!

Bayonetta (twitch cosplay - series 4)
Glasses, black wig from my stash, black clothes, butterflies on everything, and lollipops... what else is there to say? I think this was adequate effort for a 3-evening game.

Darth Onesie (twitch cosplay - series 3)
When The Video Ninja and I decided to go back to our roots of LEGO co-op, we thought it would be fun to play the first ever LEGO video game: Star Wars. And because we're weird, we decided to play them in "Machete order". For my "costume" I picked up a very affordable Darth Vader onesie, and over the course of the 5 weeks we played I had fun with makeup and pushed it farther and farther to the Dark Side ^_^

Link and Zelda (twitch cosplay - series 1&2)
After hanging out with Dan The Video Ninja and streaming with him for Extra Life in 2016, I somehow caught the streaming bug. So in November of that year I convinced Dan to let me play Ocarina of Time on his Twitch channel - I hadn't played in forever and was itching to go back to my first ever Zelda game, and Dan had never played or seen it all the way through. Since I had worn costumes the first couple of times I had been streaming... it became a thing. my goal was to always have some kind of costume on.
So for what I'm calling "series 1" (of #TeamNinjaSloth streams) I made a simple Link hat, found a "close enough" wig in my stash and borrowed elf ears from Tizzie (plus all my Legend of Zelda clothes, though a couple photos are missing here) to be closet cosplay Link while I played Ocarina of Time. Our follow-up game was Link to the Past, so Dan got the hat and I made a simple craft foam crown to be Princess Zelda. There's a couple other closet cosplays here too - Postal Link, Fierce Diety Link, and Breath of the Wild Zelda from one-off evenings playing Hyrule Warriors and BotW.

Party Gremlin - Gremlins 2
These are the things that happen when I am invited to an "80's" theme party and really don't care to find fashion items which would be appropriate. I raided my local Ardene for all the clothes and "wig" and made the ears out of felt and pipe cleaners attached to a headband. I think it ended up looking great with Mr Stark's Gizmo kigurumi.

Warm Bodies
I've wanted to cosplay as R from the first time I watched this movie, but it took be a couple years to get around to it. In 2016 I made the last-minute decision to go to Unplugged Expo (a couple weeks before Halloween) and the timing happened to work out for a cobbled together R. The hoodie is way too big but it was all I could get just a couple of days before the con. Hoodie and t-shirt were distressed using scissors, heat tool, spray glue, and lots of paint. Jeans, sneakers, and wig are all from my stash.
... but who is R without Julie? So I did a little something ridiculous a little more than a year after first wearing R. Dream Land Photography and I did a double-feature photo shoot where I played both characters. it's either weird and creepy or an awesome example of my cosplay range - you decide ~_^

GLaDRESS - Portal
An outfit I put together for a Portal (2) theme party at ConBravo! which my friends dubbed the GLaDRESS. It's a very loose interpretation of GLaDOS's look done with white clothing, a yellow pendant reminiscent of her "eye", and the 4 personality cores in my hair. Black and white were used together on the necklace and bracelets to resemble wires. Worn at ConBravo! and Otakuthon 2011, Con-G 2012.

Red Victory - Original Character
This is Red Victory. With her partner, Street Justice, and one rather unhelpful reporter, she hunts down the bad guys. What bad guys? You know, the kind who tie girls to trees in the park and leave them there with just a couple of minions on guard. Those ones.
Red victory is a character created for one of the Savage Bandito's video projects in 2010. The challenge was to wear an original costume, and the resulting story was created based on the looks that each person showed up with. Everything for this character was from my closet, including the one-of-a-kind skirt designed and made by Magdelina, and the tee I modified to go with it.

Harbourfront of RAGE
This is the result of the day of filming. No, it's not supposed to be well acted and yes, it is supposed to be completely random, but I'm still amused by it every time ^_^. *this is your official explicit language warning :P |
"Steampunk"
I ended up going to the Canadian National Steampunk Exhibition in 2011 very very last-minute, and since I would have felt very out-of-place without any kind of costume, I raided my closet to come up with this outfit. Maybe someday I'll do a "real" steampunk costume and this one can be forgotten LOL

"Formal" Mika - Gungrave
My date for the Moonlight Masquerade Ball at Anime North 2007 was dressing as Gungrave, so I decided to do a formal variation of Mika to go with his costume. I went with a full-length black dress and red scarf instead of her jacket. The designs on both of our masks are based on the designs of the guns. Unfortunately, this was the same weekend I was cosplaying Psiren, so my alchemy tattoo is pretty visible. Poor planning on my part.

Elena - Final Fantasy VII
At one time Elemental was running the Ad-Astra masquerade, and her requested staff uniform was in the style of FF VII's Shinra Turks. I don't recall if I bought the suit to staff or to join the photo shoot, but regardless both happened spring 2007..

Fujiko Mine - Lupin the 3rd
I've done two versions of Fujiko - one based on the figure, and one on her more common look in the anime, though I used a blue dress instead of the more common pink. The first was worn to DTAC 2005, and the second at Anime North 2006. Everything for both costumes came from thrift stores.
