Midna! Always, always super popular, and these are the very last photos of the costume to go up, from the very last time I wore the costume. just a few shots from Solar Tempest, but they're good, and have been added to my Midna gallery. The Zant cosplayer I was hanging out with is Melanie, aka Shinigami714. Also posted today is the little drawstring "purse" I made to go with the costume when I wore it to PAX East (pictured, with Kurumasha as Tetra).

Today I bring you a brand-new video project from The Video Ninja and I: a documentation of the construction process for Mag, my Katamari cousin costume. I think it's pretty self-explanatory LOL. It's a style of cosplay video I haven't done to this extent before because it takes a lot of pre-planning and additional time to do, but if people are interested in seeing this kind of thing (following a costume from start to finish) I can definitely do more. As per usual, Stills of the costume are in my gallery. Well, Anime North has come and gone once again. Unfortunately, with very little time between AN and Colossal, and since I have very few photos and no video of the convention, my video review/retrospective is pretty much just me rambling on this year. I put my collection of photos in a gallery here. The closest thing I have to a written report is in questionnaire form, and can be read here. Catch Cosplay for a Cure at ConBravo! More info available on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CosplayForACure full Cosplay for a Cure Anime North gallery on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/cosplayforacure/sets/72157633771933578/ While at the Cosplay for a Cure booth, I did a small interview with Culture Toronto, which is available here. As usual, Dan the Video Ninja talked to lots of cool cosplayers at the con and has posted footage from the masquerade as well on his channel. My next con report will be from Colossal Con, but since that's a video which requires editing, there will be a delay on it. Next cons: ConBravo! (community guest!) Atomic Lollipop Unplugged Expo (cosplay guest of honor!)
Well, Anime North is once again approaching fast. I mentioned in my last post that I'm working on a prop for Pepper, but I'm putting some finishing touches on a few other projects too. You might recall from VEDA that my Midna bodysuit got stained at PAX East a couple months ago - I've kept working on cleaning it since that video and I think it's as good as it's going to get now - hardly noticeable. So Midna is pretty much ready to go. I'll be wearing that costume only at the Cosplay for a Cure booth in the photo alley on Saturday. I'll be there from 1:00 (if not a little earlier) until.. I need dinner? lol. I'll be staying as long as I can; it will be several hours at least. Photos ops at the booth are available for a $2 donation, which goes directly to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. On Friday I'll be wearing my Katamari Cousin Mag along with Chibik3r0's and Scapegoated's Miso. I've made minor repairs to the head, and before the weekend I plan to finally make some bloomers to add to the costume, because they're cute and the costume's leggings don't fit very well XD Assuming I get both the tablet and bloomers finished in time, I also want to get my onesie's hood done. That's a much bigger challenge since I haven't even gotten it past the sketch phase and into the pattern phase, but it might be possible considering I have the holiday Monday to work with. I want to get that done to have something comfy and cute to wear in the evenings when I'm done with Mag and Midna. We shall see... While on paper I have 3.5 days to work on all this over this weekend, which should be more than enough, I keep ending up with more things to do, like helping out with a video project that Doc is doing, going to a volunteer event on the Hello, Harto! tour, and the last AN staff meeting before the con! (wish me luck ^_^) One last thing - I debuted my Splicer (Bioshock-inspired) at Anime North last year, so it seems appropriate to finally update my costume gallery with group photos from SolarTempest, as well as photos of the "disgusting" FX makeup I did for the Silver Snail Halloween party. Check it out!
